know what we love in pittsburgh? fireworks, and any excuse to use them…that and a good ghost story…according to Pitt lore the suite (1201 Bruce Hall, from where this photograph was taken on friday night) is haunted: “The rumor is that the wife and mistress of the man who owned the Schenley Hotel committed suicide in 1201 Bruce Hall. One reportedly jumped to her death from the top of the building, while the other hanged herself from the balcony behind the fireplace.” Ghost or not, I was surprised to find myself at a party in this gorgeous suite. It was also the best firework viewing location i’ve ever encountered. Of course, it does make you a bit wary to only have the lovely wrought iron bars pictured above between you and over a 12 story drop…..
