Is there anything better then getting to explore a house as stunning at Fallingwater without a tour guide? For the 75th anniversary celebration this weekend they lit up the fireplaces, filled the kitchen with cooks, and let the guests explore at their leisure. For just a night the house felt more like a museum, and more as if you were being welcomed into someone’s home, it was an experience I’ll not soon forget. While the ballerinas gracing the trees and paths on the grounds of Fallingwater on Saturday night were the epitome of loveliness, and gave the whole event of bit of a Midsummer Night’s Dream feel, all I could think was “you poor darlings must be so cold.”

Chopped hearts of romaine topped with fresh figs, prosciutto, salami, feta and a shallot dressing with the supper club. This was the first time I’ve had fresh figs, I had no idea what I was missing!

Sunday night snapshot: making (and eating!) 4 different kinds of pizza with old friends and new. I think we might have to start a new tradition, beginning the week cooking and laughing with friends is really about as good as it gets!
